Leslie Lindsey Memorial Chapel
Emmanuel Church - Boston, Mass.
The Leslie Lindsey Memorial Chapel at Emmanuel Church has an interesting history. The main church was the first building constructed on Newbury Street in Boston. The Lindsey Family were prominent members of the Boston community and members of the church. In 1915 the Lindsey's daughter, Leslie was married at the church. Just 2 weeks after her wedding, her and her new husband died when the Lusitania was sunk off the coast of Ireland. Leslie's grieving parents decided to have the chapel built in her honor. There is more information about the chapel at the Emmanuel Church website:

We love that this beautiful chapel was built out of love!

Justice of the Peace
Even though we are getting married in a church, we will be having a justice of the peace marry us instead of a clergy member. We will have David Buczkowski perform the ceremony.
The Dot & the Line
When we first met, we were delighted to find that we were both big fans of the story and animated short film, The Dot & the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics. We will be showing the film at the start of our ceremony!
We ordered it on DVD, but you can watch it on Youtube here:

We love The Dot & the Line so much that when we are trying to "top" each other as to who loves who more, we say, "Well, I LINE you!" Look under DIY to see our guestbook inspired by The Dot & the Line.

Music
We plan on having a musician play classical guitar at our ceremony. We want classic rock love songs. So far some of our favorites to include:
Pictures of You (The Cure)
Crazy Love (Van Morrison)
In My Life (The Beatles)
Melt With You (Modern English)
Such Great Heights (The Postal Service)
We're Going to be Friends (The White Stripes)
I've Just Seen a Face (The Beatles)
Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)

Silver Bells
Instead of throwing rice at the end of the ceremony, we will provide our guests with tiny silver bells to ring as we exit the church.
We bought these bells and cut off the string that came on them and tied a 6'' long 1/8'' width grosgrain ribbon in bright colors (hot pink, teal, green, orange) at the top (see pics below).

Shuttle
Since all of fiance's family lives within a few towns of each other, we will be providing shuttle service to/from our ceremony & reception in Boston. That way they don't have to worry about parking in the city!
Flowers
We haven't picked our EXACT flowers yet, but plan on using tropical flowers (orchids, lilies, bird of paradise, etc.) and foliage in bright colors (yellow, orange, pink, green, etc.). This photo is an example of an inspiration bouquet we've given our floral designer. SOMEWHERE in my bouquet I'd like a single yellow rose because that was my parent's wedding flower. We won't have a ton of flowers, but besides my bouquet we will have some type of cone arrangement off the ends of the chairs down the aisle, and we will be getting corsages for the women in our family (grandmother, mothers, sisters), and boutonnières for the men (fiance, fathers, brother, step-grandfather).
Comfort
We will be prepared for any weather New England throws at us! If it is hot we will have a table with beverage dispensers with lemonade & water for our guests, and a basket with paper or sandalwood fans. If it is cold & raining we will have umbrellas & hand warmers for our guests.
